If a book you wanted is already checked out, you have several options.
1) You can put a hold/recall on our copy, and hope the person who has it returns it quickly
2) You can request a copy from another library via interlibrary loan
3) if you need a book about your topic, but not that book in particular, you can choose a different one
Sometimes doing all three is the best idea!
