Faculty can put print books, journal articles, media and class assignments in the Reserve Collection to support and supplement the coursework. Students, who are assigned reserve readings, can locate a list of all print reserve material through the  online catalog. All print reserves are kept at the Check Out Desk, located on the first floor of Buley Library.

Print reserve material can be checked out at the Check Out Desk with a valid ID card. Most Reserve material is restricted for library use only and is checked out in two-hour periods. Faculty may allow their material to go out overnight. Overnight reserves checked out Sunday through Friday are due back the next day at 9:00 am. Material checked out on Saturday will be due on Sunday at 3:00 pm. Fines will be charged at $2.00 per day, per book for any overnight reserve material returned late. Library patrons will be billed for any material lost or not returned.

Electronic Reserves can be accessed from on or off campus, any time of day or night. The following instructions will help you access electronic reserves:

  1. Go to the Library's Home Page.
  2. Select Course Reserves from the dropdown under New! SouthernSearch.
  3. Search by professor's name or course.
  4. You will be required to sign into the system using your campus username and password.
