  1. Open the Search Google Scholar tab on the library home page.
  2. Enter your search terms in the search box (ex: nurses and “informed consent”[use quotation marks around a phrase])
  3. When you have the results, open the menu icon next to the words Google Scholar in the upper right corner.
  4. Select Case law.

Caveat: When you search for cases this way, you have no idea whether the case is significant or what the context or facts of the case are. For best results, start with an article, book, or Wikipedia entry about the broader topic (in this instance informed consent) and look for case names within it. Then go back to Google Scholar and search the case name.
