Q. What should I do if I can't find a book?

If you cannot find a book where it should be, there are several possible reasons.

• Check the location
  • Confirm that you are looking in the correct collection and call number range.
• Recently returned
  • The book may have been returned recently and is waiting to be reshelved.
• Misshelved book
  • The book may have been placed in the wrong location on the shelf.
• Currently in use
  • Another library user may be using the book elsewhere in the library.
• Ask for assistance
  • If you still cannot find the book, fill out a Missing Materials form at the Check Out Desk and we'll see if we can find it for you.
• Request another copy.
  • While the search is underway, you can request another copy through Interlibrary Loan.
